This month, The Hampton Roads Flavor File spotlights Wang Jiang Lou Chinese Fusion in Virginia Beach, with strong marks for atmosphere, service, and several vegetable-forward dishes.
The restaurant stood out for its warm lighting, clean interior, open layout, and inviting Chinese-inspired atmosphere. The meal included Sichuan-style spicy edamame, wild peppercorn and wood-ear mushrooms, bok choy with mushrooms and tofu, smoked duck fried rice, warm sake, and yuzu citrus lemonade.
Service was pleasant, attentive, and timely, while the atmosphere earned the highest score of the review. Overall, Wang Jiang Lou showed particular strength in ambiance, service, and several thoughtfully prepared dishes.
